Wash-basin design

a project with Agape and Cristalplant at Uniandes

Sara Ferrari spent a full semester as Visiting Professor in Bogotà, at the University of the Andes, Design Faculty, where she was responsible for leading 3 courses, 1 of which developed in collaboration with the Italian brands Agape and Cristalplant.

The brief, given by the company, was about designing a wash basin “at the intersection of three different materials and a number of different manufacturing processes closely related and specific to each of them.”

Given Cristalplant®, Concrete and Marble, our gloriously small washbasin should be able to come into existence in each and every one of the above materials while keeping shape and size constant.
Students worked on the project for 8 weeks, providing Agape with professional ideas.
The course, entitled “product development” was led by Sara Ferrari in collaboration with Professor and Architect Daniel Ronderos.
